About Me
After ten years spent founding and running a craft gallery focused on local work in Somerville, MA, I sold my business and began studying metal-smithing for jewelry fabrication. I took numerous classes at Brookline Arts Center, North Bennet Street School, and Haystack School for Crafts in Maine among other places.
I’m interested in using mixed metals and various texturing techniques such as stamping, hammering, rolling, etching and engraving. I like to combine a variety of textures and metal parts to create harmonious wholes.
Lately, I have been etching copper and incorporating found metal pieces like rusty nails and vintage manufactured pieces. I like to make large pieces that provoke conversation about what jewelry is and also smaller affordable pieces that many feel comfortable wearing. These later pieces you can see if you visit me at my shows listed in the shows menu.
About the jewelry:
Oxidized pieces are permanently colored and require no cleaning. If needed, you can rub off makeup or other accumulation with a damp cloth.
Shiny pieces will require polishing (except for any gold filled or gold leafed parts which will stay shiny) either with a polishing cloth or a jewelry dipping solution. Any product that works for sterling silver will also work for brass and copper.
